The Meaning of Trusting in Jesus

Faith without sight is not trusting in Jesus. It entails giving our lives up to the Savior, placing Him at the heart of a life that is guided by the Holy Spirit, and developing a close bond with the heavenly Father. Eternal life is a result of faith in Jesus.

After His resurrection, Jesus made a stirring remark to His sceptic follower Thomas that is recorded in the Bible: “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (John 20:29).

Everyone, in my opinion, may benefit from this idea: God blesses us as long as we have faith in him. Among the various benefits, those who put their trust in Him are guaranteed peace (John 16:33) and contentment (Proverbs 19:23).

Faith without sight is not trusting in Jesus. According to Paul, “Hearing the word of God produces faith” (Romans 10:17). As we hear the gospel of Christ, which is the authority of God to redeem everyone who believes, we put our trust in Jesus Christ, who is the eternal Word of God (John 1:1). (Romans 1:16).

What does it mean to put your faith in Jesus, then? We can gain knowledge from the Bible in at least three different areas.

1. Obtain Peace in Him

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has declared, will have rivers of living water pour out of his heart,” says Jesus (John 7:38). It is the Holy Spirit’s work of regeneration in us that results in the fruit of righteousness and changes us into the likeness of Christ (Titus 3:5-7). We can therefore accept the Lord’s offer to rest in Him by laying all of our anxieties and worries on Him (Matthew 11:28).

The Spirit also aids in our incapacity to see Jesus with our physical eyes, allows us to live with an eternal perspective and to walk by faith rather than by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). (2 Corinthians 4:17-18).

2. Commit to Him Our Ways (His will)

Giving our lives to Jesus means we are trusting in Him. It means to have complete faith in Him, even when we don’t understand, and to always rely on His direction.

Why Is This Important?

The best choice we can ever make in life is to put our faith and our lives in the hands of Jesus. Salvation is a result of the Trinity, not of human works. Through trust in Christ’s work of redemption and the Spirit’s work of regeneration, we are saved by God’s grace. All glory and honor belong to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
